With Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated film adaptation of The Odyssey now bringing Homer’s epic to a new generation of audiences, this tour book makes a perfect companion to the novel/epic poem and Nolan’s film adaptation.

As students travel with Odysseus from Troy to Ithaca, they document the people he meets, the challenges he faces, the choices he makes, and the lessons he learns along the way. The unique concert-tour format gives students a creative way to demonstrate their understanding of The Odyssey while practicing important literary analysis skills.

Students visit 14 stops on Odysseus’s epic journey, including the Land of the Cicones, the Lotus-Eaters, the Cyclopes, Aeolus’s island, the Laestrygonians, Circe’s island, the Underworld, the Sirens, Scylla and Charybdis, Helios’s island, Calypso’s island, the Phaeacians, and Ithaca.

At each tour stop, students explore characters, conflicts, important events, choices, consequences, themes, and lessons from the text through a collection of creative activities.
